am a psychotherapist in private practice in San Mateo. I have been licensed
since 1987 and enjoy working with individuals in a variety of situations,
including transitions, job stress, and grief/loss. I also work with couples,
especially with communication issues.
I like to provide a supportive and caring environment which enhances a client’s capacity for growth and change. My background and training emphasize a multicultural and multidisciplinary approach. My strengths as a clinician are humor, compassion, and sensitivity. I specialize in working with lesbians and gay men and have experience working with people with HIV and chronic illness. I also provide consultations and classes in diversity, multicultural issues and homophobia awareness.
I was on the board of directors of the Santa Clara Valley chapter of CAMFT (California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists) for four years and am currently involved in their Committee on Therapist Well-Being.
